I decided to make a boostable post and use my last $10 for this because holy shit I almost severely fucked up last night.
IF YOU ARE BIPOLAR. YOU NEED TO BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WITH CAFFEINE. IT CAN TRIGGER MANIC EPISODES.
So, I’m Bipolar I. I recently started drinking caffeine again and…. I did not know about the caffeine thing. Didn’t know it could trigger a manic episode. I’ve been in psych wards and to so many doctors over the years and never once was I told to maybe avoid caffeine. And that makes me a little mad, because I’m currently experiencing one of the worst manic episodes I’ve ever had. I’m practically itching with restlessness. I feel like I wanna crawl out of my skin or something. My mind won’t stop racing. It’s horrible. I was having self harm thoughts last night.
I don’t know what made me google it, but something in the back of my mind clicked that ‘hey, maybe caffeine could make bipolar disorder worse?’ Oh hell yes it does. I feel a lot better now knowing that I’m not just way more bipolar this week or whatever, and that all I gotta do is cut out the energy drinks. Who knew just 2 energy drinks would throw me so far off my block. Christ.
