Newton, I am not wrong. There is only one way to make sure. And that is to do this…together.
Part of me thinks Hermann only drifts with Newton to prove that his theory is correct, but the significant way he says "I’ll go with you" and his practically joyous look when they shake hands totally deconstructs that.
This is the best thing bc the body language is sooooo amazing in this scene. At first you can see Hermann lifting up his head and standing straight like he is damn sure of what he is gonna do. Then, his posture changes into a more insecure pose, he is nervously pointing the screen and he bits his own lips like he doesn’t want to say more than necessary bc he is afraid of ruining it by saying too much. And my favorite part is so classic of Hermann: trying to hide his real intentions (make sure Newton will be safe) with his sense of “duty” (“do i really have a choice?”), ughh just give a minute to hold back the tears i’ll be fine
