I haven’t seen gifs highlighting this yet, so these are the first gifs I’ve made in over a year.
I don’t know where this came from but think about this: Eggsy gets hurt on a mission, like, really badly. He gets back to base and is in a hospital room and he’s all hopped up on pain killers, so he’s not exactly in his right mind. Merlin comes in and is PISSED. He doesn’t even look at Eggsy, doesn’t acknowledge him, just kinda shuffles around checking to make sure Eggsy isn’t gonna die. Eggsy, as I said, is out of his mind on pain meds, and misinterprets Merlin’s behavior as him being mad at Eggsy (when he’s really just mad that Eggsy got hurt and he blames himself because he should’ve given better directions etc.) And Eggsy can’t stand it. He feels like he let Merlin down by fucking up the mission and he got himself hurt and he’s emotional and exhausted and maybe its that the last few months have been rough, with losing Harry ((or so he thinks)) and V-Day and he just… Bursts into tears. Like, completely blubbering and it freaks Merlin out because that’s the last thing he expected the ever cocky Eggsy to do. So Merlin just stands there dumbfounded like “What’s wrong, lad?! Are you in pain?? Tell me what’s wrong??” and Eggsy is just a mess of “I’m sorry I fucked up so bad! I’m sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry please don’t be mad at me!” And Merlin is taken aback because how could he ever be mad at his Eggsy?? He adores Eggsy! And Merlin is trying to do whatever he can to calm him down. Eventually Merlin finds himself laying in the hospital bed next to the sniveling boy, who’s finally letting the pain meds take him to sleep. Merlin is just laying with him and petting his hair and telling him how good he was and how proud he is (shamelessly feeding Eggsy’s praise kink) until he’s sure the boy is asleep.

Merlin being so used to directing Eggsy on missions that he just kinda does it all the time, but nicer when he’s not on mission.
Merlin getting protective whenever Eggsy comes back from a mission with a cracked rib or a bruised face.
Merlin being a big softie for kids, making Daisy flower crowns when he babysits her maybe.
Merlin letting Eggsy wear his sweaters when he stays the night, which are really too big on Eggsy.
Merlin cooking for Eggsy because Eggsy is USELESS in the kitchen (he can make some pretty mean easy mac though)
Merlin maybe having tattoos and getting really blushy about it when Eggsy sees them one time.
Merlin having a bunch of cats. Especially fluffy cats. Especially fluffy cats named things like “Mr. Fluffy” and “Princess Softie”
All of those cats really like Eggsy.
They like to sit on him when he visits.
