My favorite part about Colin Firth playing a character named Harry in both Mama Mia and Kingsman is that it’s all too easy to imagine
Harry Hart: Glam Rock Edition
I never really noticed before because his expression lasted for only a few frames but look how uncomfortable he is in that church when the preacher is damning all of the black, gay, Jewish people, etc.
Like, he’s a trained spy with almost 35 years of experience. He was undoubtedly trained in controlling his facial expressions, yet he still lets that microexpression slip.
So, Harry joined Kingsman in or before 1981, because the newspaper cover from his first mission was a royal wedding picture of princess Diana and prince Charles. If we’re going by Colin Firth’s age, it means Harry was still 20 for his first mission.
Harry seems to be one of those quietly liberal people. His little “Catholic whore” speech in the church was before Valentine turned on the chips, meaning what Harry said came from his own self. People usually mellow with age, so when Harry was younger, he was most likely a more vocal liberal.
Basically what I’m saying is that my headcanon for young Harry is that he was liberal hippie trash that was constantly giving the other agents heart attacks with how reckless and boisterous he was.
Yeah Harry and Eggsy are nice but have you considered: Merlin and Eggsy.
Merlin being so used to directing Eggsy on missions that he just kinda does it all the time, but nicer when he’s not on mission.
Merlin getting protective whenever Eggsy comes back from a mission with a cracked rib or a bruised face.
Merlin being a big softie for kids, making Daisy flower crowns when he babysits her maybe.
Merlin letting Eggsy wear his sweaters when he stays the night, which are really too big on Eggsy.
Merlin cooking for Eggsy because Eggsy is USELESS in the kitchen (he can make some pretty mean easy mac though)
Merlin maybe having tattoos and getting really blushy about it when Eggsy sees them one time.
Merlin having a bunch of cats. Especially fluffy cats. Especially fluffy cats named things like “Mr. Fluffy” and “Princess Softie”
All of those cats really like Eggsy.
They like to sit on him when he visits.

I have to laugh when people insinuate that Harry Hart is some kind of strict, dull, stick in the mud. We’re talking about the man that named his dog Mr. Pickles for Christ’s sake.
